Yes it will be a french version. It will be shot in South Africa but with people from multiple french speaking african countries.

From an article: differences from Secret Story France: there is a double bedroom, a love room where the contestants will probably be able to have intimate relationships, the showers are without doors which could make one think that nudity is not hidden like in Secret Story France, this first season of Secret Story in Africa will begin on June 15 at 10.30pm French time. However, French viewers will not be able to watch this version. The channel is in fact reserved for African subscribers. These fans of the program will also have the opportunity to have bonuses, every Saturday evening, in addition to the daily ones. I really hope someone manages to subscribe to this reality show!!
